The city of Troy, Montana is a community in northwest Montana that has the distinction of being the Gateway to Montana and lowest in elevation. Nestled between mountains and along the banks of the Kootenai River, Troy is an ideal jumping-off point for outdoor explorations in the rugged mountains of Montana with plenty of wildlife and scenic views to enjoy.
Cyclists, horseback riders, and others have already discovered opportunities for fun around Troy. Because of the ruggedness that characterizes this area, it was kept unsettled until gold was discovered in the mid 1860’s. When the Great Northern railroad established a freight division on the current town site; the town began to flourish!
